Craig Kelly, former member of the Australian Parliament and the owner of the X (formerly Twitter) account Foundation for Economic Education (@craigkellyAFEE) calls for a massive public campaign to prevent the federal government implementing the Online Safety Amendment (Protecting Australian Children from Online Harm) Bill 2023. The proponents of the bill claim that it is only intended to prevent minors, under the age of 16, from being exposed to harmful content on social media. In fact, enforcement of its provisions will be achieved by requiring everyone accessing those social media sites to prove their identity. Already LinkedIn requires users, even those with existing accounts, to provide an Australian-government-issued Digital ID. (How you can help)
