On 19 April President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan demanded that neighbouring Armenia surrender to it the territory of its northen-eastern-most province of Tavush. Armenian President Nikola Pashinyan raised no objection and, once more, following a pattern of betrayals which followed his installation as President in the US-orchestrated colour revolution of 2018, acted immediately to use the forces of the Armenian state to facilitate this surrender of territory. This included sending Armenian Army sappers to disable minefields which had been constructed by the residents of Tavush to help defend their province from the feared invasion by Azerbaijan that was then about to commence.
On this occasion, unlike on past occasions, like Pashinyan's surrender of Artsakh province last year, in September 2023, Armenian patriots have mobilised more effectively, and in larger numbers to prevent this treason. Archbishop Bagrat Gastanyan (pictured) has organised, and is leading, a march of large numbers of Tavush residents. That march is expected to arrive, this coming Thursday 9 May, in Armenia's capital, Yerevan.
Their arrival in Yerevan could conceibvably help to ignite an even greater popular upsurge against President Pashinyan and finally see his removal from office together. Political prisoners would also gain their freedom. These prisoners include military officers who fought courageously against Azerbaijan in the Second Nagorno-Karabakh war of 2020, That war was lost largely due to backstabbing by President Pashinyan.
Once Armenia is led, once more, by people who are resolved to serve the people of Armenia, it should be possible for Armenia to hold on to Tavush and also to take back territories previously stolen from Armenia, including the enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh, also known as 'Artsakh.'
Hopefully such a victory by the people of Armenia would also cause citizens to neighbouring Azebaijan to remove their own Zionist/US puppet President Ilham Aliyev. Prior to Turkish President Erdogan's recent, and very belated, oil embargo against the genocidal regime of Israel, oil had been piped from Azerbaijan through Turkey and thence shipped to Israel.
Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan informed the marchers that police forces had gathered along the route they were taking. He reminded and urged participants not to succumb to provocations and to maintain order.

Further Information
Sadly, little about this epic march has been reported in the otherwise informative Iranian PressTV news service. Even less has been reported in Russia's RT. To be well informed about Armenian, please read Alison Tahmizian Meuse's Twitter/X posts at @AliTahmizian.
